The overlay of religion and human rights colors every aspect of our collective human experience—gender, race, class, culture and political systems. The practice of global religions bring forward both love and hate, justice and terror, the particular and the universal. Areas of seminar study include case studies, belief paradigms and moral universes related to states, religion and armed conflict, and peace and human rights, as well as the role of secularism, identities, economics and other material considerations. Our goal is to forge useful frameworks for interpreting the complexity of competing ideas in our global political reality.
